{Crochet Designs} Cabled Hat

In the last six months or so, I have become semi-obsessed with crocheting cables.

I lied.  I am obsessed.

Every single time I saw a knitted cabled sweater or amazing hat, I was just chomping at the bit to learn how to knit so that I could create these amazing patterns.

(Over time you will come to know my complete and utter hatred for learning how to knit.  For those of you that can, I am amongst the top of the heap when it comes to being horribly jealous of you.  No joke…I just. Cant. Do it.)

So I can’t remember exactly what pattern it was, but I am positive that it was on Ravelry.  I found a cabled blanket pattern for CROCHET and absolutely had to give it a try.  It’s all history now…I absolutely cannot get enough!

I recently found a pattern for a crocheted cabled hat and knew that I had to make it especially to share it with you guys.  The girl who created the design is great with the way she took photographs of explaining how to create cables.  You will apprecaite all the time she took, trust me!

In the end, it is an intermediate pattern, so for you beginners – just sit and swoon until you master it all a bit more.  But if you are willing to give it a try – you will LOVE IT!

Here is the link to the pattern

And here is the one that I made!  (I would have taken a picture of myself wearing it, but we’ll have to wait for a good hair and makeup day for that…) 😉

What a beautifully crocheted hat! I love to crochet, or try my hand at it. My great grandmother taught me how to “chain”, but due to my age and hers that was it. Decades later, I have mastered the very basics of crocheting but nothing like what you have created above. Hats off to you!
